I’d bet that if your friend seems generally open minded -as in- not a red neck meathead who would decapitate the first guy who hit on him: then probably gay men wouldn’t see any harm in making a pass. I would consider it an indicator that your friend has good character — that gay men, who have to hide how they feel with other guys – can be themselves around your friend.

I sometimes come onto guys who seem uneasy about me, because that’s how I used to feel– back when I was “straight.” Ha ha.

Don’t know if Eric’s “friend” gives off a nervous vibe, but that could be one reason.
